Touch the Future: how to build an innovative IT-infrastructure

Nowadays, most companies tend to use cloud technologies for building or upgrading their IT-infrastructure.

Numerous studies have proved that the cloud segment is rapidly developing, while the domestic market for information technology goes down. First of all, the popularity of this trend is caused by the fact that providing a full-fledged IT-infrastructure is very expensive. That is why the majority of entrepreneurs choose cloud technologies, the services of which provide not only mobility, scalability, reliability of the information security, but also significant cost savings.

Let us remind you that cloud technologies are the technologies which help Internet users gain access to computer resources of the server and use a software as an online service. There are such business models of cloud services as SaaS – software as a service and IaaS, which offers the user an information infrastructure as a service. The latter model uses virtualization technology in its work. This means that the entire infrastructure of the corporate network can be used on one or several servers of the data center of the service provider.

The main types of cloud technologies for creating an innovative IT-infrastructure

There are four types of clouds that have their own distinctive features. The task of each organization is to determine which of the cloud technologies will be a better choice, and then, based on the thorough “pros” and “cons”, the company can choose the best option to connect to cloud resources. The main types of clouds are the following:

Private cloud

Private cloud is an infrastructure created for use by only one company that includes several users. The management and operation of such infrastructure can be carried out both by the organization and by a third party. Physically, the IT-infrastructure may be located in the user’s data center or other location. Among the significant advantages of a private cloud we can distinguish the high speed and high level of cyber defense.

Public cloud

Public cloud is a public cloud infrastructure designed for a wide range of users. In this case, the entire IT-infrastructure is controlled by a service provider who independently monitors all systems. Today, the public cloud is considered to be the most popular concept among cloud services. Such popularity is caused by such strong advantages as technological and financial flexibility, convenient service (the provider takes full responsibility for the quality of the IT-infrastructure), scalability and reliability.

Community cloud

Community cloud is created and used by several companies that follow the same principles when building an IT-infrastructure. It can be managed both by the enterprise and a third party.  From a financial point of view, this kind of model is considered to be quite profitable, since it represents a huge private cloud used by a whole team of corporate users.

Hybrid cloud

Hybrid cloud combines the advantages of public and private clouds, so it provides more flexibility in the use of resources. For example, a large amount of information is usually stored in a public cloud with fewer security requirements, while a private cloud usually contains confidential data and other important information. In this case, the public cloud provides flexibility, while the private one provides a high level of security and reliable resource control. So, the part of the IT-infrastructure that solves the most important tasks is located in the data center, which is controlled by the organization itself, and less important applications are located on the facilities of public operators. It is worth noting that the entire cloud infrastructure operates as a single system under a common centralized management system.

As you can see, cloud network infrastructures are truly progressive and promising innovative solutions for your company. Their rapid popularity is now one of the main trends that in the coming years will significantly affect global development.
